Fanshawe Head Start: Simcoe/Norfolk Regional Campus

You are on the verge of starting an exciting new chapter in your life and we at Fanshawe College, Simcoe/Norfolk Regional Campus want to make this transition smooth and comfortable for you.

Please join us on Thursday, July 18th, 2019 for a session that will give you a “Head Start” towards your successful academic experience at Fanshawe. This half-day information session will provide you with the opportunity to:

• Meet your classmates and support staff

• Familiarise yourself with the campus

• Learn about financing your education and ask questions about OSAP

• Set up your student card and learn about valuable resources

• Learn how to access academic accommodations and adaptive technologies

• Write the WRIT test prior to the “Head Start” event (for students registered in the Social Service Worker, Office Administration and Adventure Expeditions programs)

Complete your WRIT assessment 8:30 a.m . - 10 a.m. (please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in)
Head Start Registration 9:45 a.m.
Head Start 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Pizza Lunch 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.
Information Sessions for Students with Disaibilities or OSAP Application Workshop 1 - 2 p.m.

You are welcome to bring a guest with you.

Studies have repeatedly shown that students who engage early with their post-secondary institution are more likely to do well academically and socially and we are looking forward to meeting you!

Before you come:

If you previously had an IEP or a documented disaibility, complete your Early ID before attending Head Start, this will help you during your time as a student, but may also provide support while you write your WRIT assessment during Head Start.
